The University's own tuition fee reduction and exemption

Students who are recognized as having extreme difficulty paying tuition within one year prior to enrollment or after enrollment due to the following reasons, and who meet the family financial standards and academic performance specified by the university, may be exempted from the full or half amount of the entrance fee and tuition upon examination of their application.

  • Unemployment, long-term medical treatment, or death of the financial benefactor
  • Your home has been severely damaged by a natural disaster or calamity.

Application Procedures

Apply twice a year (1st semester and 2nd semester) based on the information provided by the Educational Affairs and Welfare Division.

Growth Support Subsidy (Challenge Subsidy)

The scholarship is provided to support current students to have a clear goal for the future and to work ambitiously to realize their dreams.

Number of beneficiaries per year: approx. 10

Stipend annual range: 100,000-500,000 yen (repayment unnecessary)
Stipend period: Once during enrollment, limited to one year

Murayama Scholarship Program

Based on the concept of the separation of pharmacy and clinic, the University aims to demand pharmacists have advanced knowledge and skills. Faculty members and selected students who wish to study in the United States, which is an advanced country in this respect, visit the United States to observe pharmacy and clinical pharmacy education. This initiative is supported by a grant donated by Mr. Gen Murayama, an alumnus of the University.

Other information

Gifu Pharmaceutical University mainly offers scholarships from the Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO), but also offers some scholarships from local organizations, such as the Gifu Prefectural Scholarship for Students. In order to be eligible for these scholarships, students must have excellent academic and personal records, be in good health, and have been recognized as having difficulty paying for school.
